We need to keep electrical appliances safe to ensure they work well and don’t hurt us. Just like we clean our clothes, we need to clean and take care of appliances like the fan, iron, and fridge.

Precautions When Using Electrical Appliances

  1. Always turn off the appliance after use – Never leave it running when you’re done.

  2. Keep appliances away from water – Never touch an appliance with wet hands, and keep it away from any water source.

  3. Check cords for damage – Don’t use appliances with frayed or broken wires.

  4. Unplug when not in use – It’s important to pull the plug out of the socket after using an appliance to prevent any accidents.

  • Repair Appliances Quickly – Don’t wait for long if something is broken. Let an adult fix it.

17. Classroom Story

Kemi helped her father clean the electric fan. They dusted it carefully and made sure the wires weren’t frayed. “Mummy always checks the plug before turning it on,” Kemi said proudly.
