📌 Prayer Lesson Note for Nursery 1 (Third Term Week 1)

🎯 Behavioural Objectives

By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

  1. Say what prayer means in simple words
  2. Mention at least two times we pray
  3. Demonstrate how to pray (fold hands, close eyes)
  4. Say a short simple prayer
  5. Show respect during prayer time

🎬 Set Induction (Attention-Grabbing Story)

The teacher gathers the children and begins softly:

“Yesterday night, little Tunde was afraid. The light went off, and everywhere became dark. He ran to his mummy and said, ‘Mummy, I am scared!’ His mummy smiled and said, ‘Tunde, when you are afraid, talk to God.’

So Tunde closed his eyes, folded his hands, and said, ‘Dear God, please help me. I am afraid.’ Suddenly, he felt calm and happy.”

The teacher pauses and asks:

“Children, who did Tunde talk to?”
(Pupils respond: God!)

Prayer means talking to God.

We talk to God when:
