Sub-topic: Structure — Expressing Possession Using “His” and “Her”; Vocabulary — Synonyms, Antonyms, and Homophones

Behavioural Objectives

By the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

  1. Pronounce simple English words correctly.
  2. Identify and use “his” and “her” to show possession.
  3. Define and differentiate between synonyms, antonyms, and homophones.
  4. Give examples of words with similar or opposite meanings.
  5. Construct short, correct sentences using his and her.
  6. Recognize homophones in spoken and written English.
  7. Demonstrate correct pronunciation through classroom repetition.
  8. Match words with their correct meanings.
  9. Write short sentences using new vocabulary.
  10. Show confidence in oral reading and spelling.

  • Who gave Chidi the pencil?
  • Whose pencil was it?
    This leads into today’s lesson — using his and her, and learning words that sound or mean the same.
